The Land Conservancy of New Jersey first met Aaron Cela through our Internship Program.  He joined our staff Land Team as a Land Preservation Specialist in 2011.  As an LPS, Aaron works with municipalities to acquire open space for both conservation and recreational purposes.  He is a dedicated conservationist and lends his experience and enthusiasm to all of The Conservancy’s goals.

Aaron earned a Masters of Environmental Management, with a concentration in Ecosystem Sciences and Conservation, from The Duke University Nicholas School of the Environment.  As an undergraduate at Brandeis University he graduated Cum Laude with a double major in History and Sociology.

“The best part of my job is going to visit the places that I have preserved and knowing that when my daughter grows up, she will be able to visit these same special places, and that they will be preserved forever.”
