Say hello to new planning intern Sam Waldorf! Sam is pursing a master’s degree in city planning at Rutgers University, with a focus on community development and urban redevelopment. Before graduate school, Sam spent five years in Chicago working in community and economic development at the neighborhood level. In his spare time Sam enjoys running and biking, playing board games, and baking (his new pandemic hobby).

Sam says, “Joining the Land Conservancy team is a great opportunity to learn more about using open space to benefit the community. I also want to explore how nature and green space is incorporated into plans and municipalities.”

Welcome, Sam!

We are deeply humbled to occupy the land of the native Munsee Lenape.

The Land Conservancy of New Jersey acknowledges Indigenous Peoples as the traditional stewards of the land, and the enduring relationship that exists between them and their traditional territories. The land on which our headquarters sit is the traditional unceded territory of the Munsee Lenape Nation. We also work to preserve land in the traditional territories of the Lenape Haki-nk (Lenni-Lenape) and the Ramapough Lenape Nation.
