Land Trust Accreditation Renewed!

Kate Munning

Updated: May 19, 2021

For 40 years, TLCNJ has been building a legacy of passionate, expert land conservation, so we are proud to announce that our land trust accreditation has been renewed for another five years.

The process requires extensive documentation and was subject to a comprehensive third-party evaluation, but the National Land Trust Accreditation Commission gave us strong marks and complimented our efforts to increase state funding for open space.

TLCNJ was the first accredited land trust in the state, and earning this national recognition of our strong commitment to public trust and conservation excellence validates the work we do every day to permanently protect nature for ourselves and our children.

What a perfect 40th birthday gift!

We are deeply humbled to occupy the land of the native Munsee Lenape.

The Land Conservancy of New Jersey acknowledges Indigenous Peoples as the traditional stewards of the land, and the enduring relationship that exists between them and their traditional territories. The land on which our headquarters sit is the traditional unceded territory of the Munsee Lenape Nation. We also work to preserve land in the traditional territories of the Lenape Haki-nk (Lenni-Lenape) and the Ramapough Lenape Nation.
