Intern Class of 2019: Jared Bazaral

Jared is a sophomore at Montclair state University with a major in earth and environmental science. During his time at The Land Conservancy, he and the other stewardship interns have been responsible for removing the invasive plants such as mugwort and mile a minute weed at our Preserves.  In addition, he has been supervising the Chew Crew goats from Project Chew at the South Branch Preserve.

“I chose to intern at The Land Conservancy because I thought that there was a lot I could learn about various plants and wild life. In the future I hope to take my newly acquired knowledge and help teach the next generation about the importance of land preservation.”

We are deeply humbled to occupy the land of the native Munsee Lenape.

The Land Conservancy of New Jersey acknowledges Indigenous Peoples as the traditional stewards of the land, and the enduring relationship that exists between them and their traditional territories. The land on which our headquarters sit is the traditional unceded territory of the Munsee Lenape Nation. We also work to preserve land in the traditional territories of the Lenape Haki-nk (Lenni-Lenape) and the Ramapough Lenape Nation.
