Intern Profile: Eric Harris

Kate Munning

A big welcome to new planning intern Eric Harris!

After getting a BA in environmental studies at Gettysburg College, Eric worked as a consultant to identify potential soil/groundwater contamination issues and conduct remediation services. He is now a graduate student at the Rutgers University Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy pursuing a master's of city and regional planning (MCRP), and interests are related to land use and development/redevelopment. He's excited to be working for The Land Conservancy to aid their mission to protect open lands.

Eric says, "For years I've been interested in the environment and especially passionate about open space preservation. It's partially why I chose to get my master's in urban planning and why I'm so excited to be working with TLCNJ! I'm looking forward to learning more about the tools which enable towns to better protect their agricultural, recreational, and environmental resources."

We are deeply humbled to occupy the land of the native Munsee Lenape.

The Land Conservancy of New Jersey acknowledges Indigenous Peoples as the traditional stewards of the land, and the enduring relationship that exists between them and their traditional territories. The land on which our headquarters sit is the traditional unceded territory of the Munsee Lenape Nation. We also work to preserve land in the traditional territories of the Lenape Haki-nk (Lenni-Lenape) and the Ramapough Lenape Nation.
