Are you a college junior, senior, or graduate student in environmental science or a related environmental field? Know someone who is? The Land Conservancy of New Jersey is looking to support scholars pursuing degrees in environmental science, natural resource management, conservation, park administration, and related fields.
The Land Conservancy is now accepting applications for the 2025 scholarship cycle. Download the application form and instructions here. All application materials must be submitted no later than April 1, 2025.
The Land Conservancy's scholarship program started in 1983 with the Russell W. Myers Scholarship, followed by the Rogers Family Scholarship in 2005. For 42 years TLCNJ has been proudly supporting future environmental leaders who are training for careers protecting our natural resources. In 2025, we will be awarding seven scholarships, thanks to generous supporters of our education initiatives. One student is chosen for each of the seven $10,000 scholarships.
Our past scholarship recipients have not only achieved academic excellence, but also embody many values of the organization, including leadership and a passion for protecting our natural resources. Take Nikki Morley, for example, whose love of birds “took flight” while volunteering at the Raptor Trust in 2016. After getting an animal science degree, Nikki was a planning intern with TLCNJ, then went back to the Raptor Trust to work on avian rehabilitation. Now Nikki is working on a master’s in ecology and ecosystems at the University of Vienna.
Nikki says, "If you can get people interested in the local land they have ties to, you can get them interested in saving it and the animals that live there. That skill has been indispensable to both my work and research. I am so grateful to put the scholarship towards furthering my education and, ultimately, spreading the message of conservation."
We couldn't agree more!
