The Land Conservancy will be hosting an Open House event at our South Branch Preserve Community Garden, Saturday, July 15, from 9:00AM-1PM and July 16 from 1PM-4PM as part of the Friends of the Frelinghuysen Arboretum’s Open Gates weekend. Come tour the garden, visit with our gardeners and hike along the trails. A guided hike is scheduled for 10AM on Saturday. Refreshments will be served both days.
The Community Garden is located at the intersection of Wolfe Road and Route 46 in Budd Lake. It is part of South Branch Preserve, which totals over 200 acres. Preserved by The Land Conservancy and its partners (including Mt. Olive Township) this land was purchased to protect the headwaters of the South Branch of the Raritan River, a drinking water supply source for over 1.5 million New Jersey residents.
