Lily is a senior at Ramapo College of New Jersey in Mahwah, where she is majoring in Environmental Studies and minoring in Public Policy.
Over the past four years she has been actively involved in the environmental organization called 1STEP. As the president of 1STEP, Lily leads and motivates other members of the organization to participate in campus events, campaigns, and activities related to sustainability on campus.
Lily spends a lot of time outdoors hiking, gardening, and walking with her dog. She also enjoys visiting historical places around the world to explore history and culture.
“Since I started my planning internship at The Land Conservancy, I have worked on several projects including the Critical Habitat Management Plan for Kinnelon as well as an Environmental Resource Inventory for Roselle Park,” Lily said.
“I chose to intern with The Land Conservancy of New Jersey because I believe in the preservation goals of this organization and I want to expand my knowledge and skills in the field of planning. As an environmental studies student looking to work in community development, this internship offers a lot of insight into how planning works at the municipal level. I am very excited to continue learning and growing!”
Lily hopes to secure a job after graduation in May, hopefully working in the public sector. Eventually, she’d like to pursue a Master’s Degree, potentially in Sustainability.
