Jessica Schottanes is a planning intern at the Land Conservancy of New Jersey this summer. In 2018, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Geosciences from Slippery Rock University along with two professional certificates in GIS and Sustainability. She is currently a M.S. candidate at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in both the Geosciences and Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning Departments.
“I’m very excited to have Barbara Heskins Davis as my mentor, and I look forward to this hands-on experience at The Land Conservancy planning department where I have the opportunity to utilize and further my knowledge and skills in geology, environmental science, GIS, sustainability, conservation, and graphic design,” said Jessica.
In addition to her internship, Jessica will also be traveling to communities along the Appalachian Trail this summer in order to complete her Master’s Thesis field research.
