Dennis Briede is Stewardship Manager for The Land Conservancy of New Jersey.  Dennis oversees the stewardship management of all of the acres directly owned by The Conservancy, including the South Branch Preserve.  He is also responsible for our WildAcres headquarters buildings and grounds, including our native garden, which has been certified as a Backyard Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation. Dennis is also instrumental in the operation of our award-winning Partners for Parks Program.

After 20 years in Information Technology, Dennis decided to pursue his passion for nature and the outdoors fulltime, joining our staff in 2007.

Dennis is a Trustee of the Ridge & Valley Conservancy in Blairstown, serving since 1998.   He is a former member of the Knowlton Township Environmental Commission.

Dennis holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Landscape Management.  He is a self-taught naturalist and has been leading bird and nature walks for The Conservancy as well as many different organizations for over 25 years.  Dennis has journeyed to 11 countries for birding and nature adventures.

“The best part of my job is that every time The Conservancy preserves a slice of New Jersey I know that we are adding another key piece to the natural ecosystem puzzle.”

Dennis’s favorite acre:  The center acre of the South Section of South Branch Preserve – “In spring, this acre is carpeted with various native wildflowers.”
